so I was listening to the new WTF this morning with James Mercer of the Shins, and he mentioned that they used to cover this song “semi-ironically”. Fuck that. Why can’t we call a spade a spade and recognize Duran Duran as some of the best pop songsmiths of the eighties without couching our enjoyment in ironic detachment? This is a great song, end of story.

I love Duran Duran completely unironically and anyone who knows me will confirm this.
